My Mr. Clean

tough – involving considerable difficulty or hardship; requiring great determination or effort, Jake Moffat.

Jake has been through a great deal of pain in the last year and a half to two years. Since that time he hasn’t had a solid bowel movement. His pain increased as the disease he wasn’t aware of was busy taking over his GI track. Sometimes even getting sores in his mouth. He went to several doctors and specialists, had many colonoscopies, many different diagnoses and tried so many different drugs. He had many accidents, many embarrassing moments, many days of suffering and restless nights, chained to the throne.

Now, Jake is in the next chapter, the next season. I’m sure he didn’t know if the last season would ever end; like a 100 year winter, dark, cold and cloudy. But, he has persevered and in a few days will begin to see the clear skies and sunshine again. Dr. Hani Baradi removed his colon, rectum and a foot of his small intestine (ileostomy) on Saturday morning, June 30, 2018.

I’m happy that Jake is finally going to get to do things again without worrying about having an accident or having the intense pain in his abdomen. I hope he gets to smile again soon and and it’s real and bigger than ever before! And I hope his post surgery pain is under control soon and he can get the much needed rest his body needs to heal and adapt to it’s new working status quo.

I love you brother and I’m so happy you’re on the recovery highway. By the way, you’re way tougher than Mr. Clean!
