• dad’s 75th birthday on Twosday 2.22.22
• three generation photo that evening
• seeing a mini cooper with a set of Texas Longhorns horns on the front grill
• seeing the the young owner of the same mini open the door for his girlfriend or wife
• listened to Nightbirde on the way to work
• seeing very small snowflakes in the air at 7:31 a.m.

• excited having my artwork hanging on my studio walls
• having fun playing Dutch Bliss with my family
• the (almost) frosty back door windows this morning
• listening to an ambient playlist while cleaning my studio

Observations 12.27.2021

– Reading on the back porch feeling a cool, light north breeze on the back of my neck.
– Tammy taking down the Christmas decorations.
– The smells inside Aspen Coffee.
– Austyn’s excitement explaining his new VR gaming system.
– Good conversations with Steve and LaNeta.

Observations 02.21.2021

• Refreshing my sourdough starter and making a new gluten free version.
• Having a temp after getting my first Covid vaccine.
• Roasting a brined chicken over a bed of root veggies.
• Seeing Ollie play fetch and running through giant puddles of water.

Observations 02.17.2021

• The sound of the fresh snow smashing under my tires.
• Our front porch covered with fresh snow this morning.
• The way my head was hurting before I left work
• The empty egg and milk shelves at Sprout’s. Nothing.
• The way Dixie laid stretched her head and neck out when Tammy started scratching behind her ear and under her chin.
• How excited Dixie was when it she thought it was dinner time, it wasn’t but she thought it was.

OBSERVATIONS 01-13-2021

• Feeling relaxed this morning while spinning the Bill Evans Trio.
• Gripping the warm steering wheel on my way home for lunch.
• Excited for Coldbrew, 2 million plus streams for Simple, one of his first beats.

Observations 12.9.2020

• The silhouette of a working pumping unit against a sunrise saturated with orange and deep blues on my way to work.
• A man and a woman taking a selfie just before dusk with a lake and the lightly glowing sunset behind them – then a smile from each with a short kiss.

Observations 10.27.2020

• The L.A. Dodger, baseball player, drinking water from a ribbed clear plastic bottle, rinsing his mouth and spewing it back out, on the ground in front of him, during game 5 of the World Series. Any other year this would be a normal situation. This year, all I can see is germs going everywhere; in the air and on the ground.
• Dixie whining tonight – after having 12 teeth extracted this morning.
• Our battered and broken trees – limbs laying all over our yard. So sad. Very unbelievable. An ice storm to add to the long list of terrible things in 2020.
